Chela Cooper

Chef Educator

Chela grew up in Missouri and California, spending lots of time on family farms and in family kitchens. She earned a BA in English Literature and Writing from the University of San Francisco and a culinary degree from the Culinary Institute of America.  Before coming to the farm, she worked in restaurant kitchens in New York City and California, did research and development at a food manufacturing company in Napa, California, and worked as a private chef and caterer around the country for over a decade. She loves the sound of rain on freshly plowed fields, the smell of bread in the oven, the first taste of a new food, and the sight of kids with their hands in the soil.
